Whigfield es el nombre artístico de la guapa danesa Sannie Charlotte Carlson, quién se decidió por hacer historia dentro de la música pop-dance. Dejó su ciudad natal, Skaelskar, para trabajar como modelo, pero pronto se dio cuenta de que su gran pasión era la música. Larry Pignagnoli descubrió a Whigfield que inmediatamente descubrió sus cualidades de artista. El nombre Whigfield lo tomo de una maestra de canto.

Su primer single Saturday Night, llegó a No. 1 en España, durante 11 semanas consecutivas a raíz de esto fue un éxito en toda Europa, alcanzando el No. 1 en Uk en tan solo cuatro semanas, al igual que Alemania, Italia, Suiza y otros países, vendiendo un total de 2 millones de copias. Whigfield ganó fuerza gracias a las actuaciones en clubes y discotecas por toda Europa y Canadá donde sus discos han sido todo un éxito. Los siguientes singles Another Day y Think Of You fueron ambos top 10 en Uk y resto de países de todo el mundo. Su álbum debut Whigfield, contiene estos singles más su famosa balada Close To You. El single del verano del '96 fue Sexy Eyes también incluido en este álbum, que estuvo en listas en países como España, Alemania, Dinamarca , Austria, Suiza y Sudáfrica, llegando a No. 1 en Australia.

Gimme Gimme; el sencillo-debut del 2do. album Whigfield II; se preparó en otoño del 96 y salió con gran éxito en Australia y Sudáfrica, al igual que en Europa; llegando al No. 1 en México. En noviembre del 97, lanzo mundo el álbum llamado Whigfield II, que incl. los sencillos, Baby Boy, No Tears To Cry y Givin All My Love.

En el 99 Whigfield lanza un nuevo single, llamado Be My Baby, una versión del conocido tema de los 60, y para acabar el año y dar entrada al nuevo milenio, a principios del 2000 lanza Doo Whop, ya para finales del 2000 Whigfield nos presenta su tercer album Whigfield III, seguido del lazamiento del sencillo Much More con el cual entraria al No. 5, en en las listas en México.

Para el 2001 Whigfield se concentro en promocionar su tercer album, el cual fue editado, en varios paises alrededor del mundo, como en Alemania, Singapur (En donde fue una edicion especial con tres dicos que incluia todos sus videos), Brazil, Mexico. Ese mismo año se edito un album en Canada llamado Eurodance, mientras que en México se edito Greatest Hits (Exclusivo en México).

En julio del 2002, Whigfield nos presenta su nuevo album Whigfield 4, y su primer sencillo Gotta getcha, el cual incl. un nuevo remix de Saturday Night.

En el 2002 Whigfield promociono el 4to. album por toda Alemania, haciendo presentaciones en TV, conciertos, estadios, eventos, etc. El 2do. single del album es Amazing & Beautiful, en el cual también se inclulle My My.

Entrando el 2003, Whigfield sigue promocionando el 4to. album, ademas de lanzar en Alemania e Italia; Saturday Night 2003, una nueva version del ya muy conocido éxito.
