In order to calculate the seismic threat in this way for any place in Nicaragua, they had to know the probability of the occurrence of quakes of several magnitudes in the main zones that could affect Nicaragua, especially the zone of subduction and the volcanic chain of Nicaragua. The calculation was based in historic seismic catalog whose registers was strong and that is a problem because the small and moderate seismicity in the volcanic chain was not well considerated. It’s observed clearly that the numeric calculation indicates what is assumed already seeing the seismicity map, the old threatens trend to be concentrated in the Pacific coast and toward the Atlantic the threat gradually diminishes. (see figure 3)
